Travels

Clermont-Créans is located halfway between Angers (Laure's hometown) and Le Mans (famous for the 24H). It is about a 45mn drive from both cities. Angers is easily reachable by train from the Paris Airport or via car.

But first, let's get you to France...

The easiest way to get to the wedding is to land in Paris. The airport is called Aéroport Charles de Gaulle also abbreviated as CDG. It's a direct flight (about 8hrs) from Chicago or any major cities in the US. We recommend flying to Paris with:

- Air France

- American Airlines

- Delta

- Aer Lingus (Aer Lingus does have a connection in Dublin but if booked in advance, is often a lot cheaper than the big companies)

Once you land in Paris, there is a train station under the airport where you can take a train to Angers. This train, called SNCF, is the equivalent to Amtrak in the US. The train is direct to Angers, with some stops along the way. At this point, if you would like to take the train to Angers, please reach out to Laure so she can help you book your tickets.

If enough people want to take the train, we will try to find someone local to help everyone get on the right train.

The train will get you to the city center of Angers, where we recommend you stay until the day of the wedding and rent a car. The train station has several rental car agencies on site. Please, make sure to book an automatic car, as the standard cars in France are manual. We drive on the same side as the US and driving is France is pretty easy.

You can rent your car with:

- Avis

- Enterprise

- Budget

- Sixt

- National

- Europcar

Why come to Angers when the wedding is in Clermont-Créans?

We understand it might be confusing that we direct you to a different city than where the wedding is held.

This is for a couple of reasons:

1. there is a lot more to do in Angers than around the wedding venue and if this is your first time in France, we want you to enjoy one of the most beautiful French cities

2. we will have a welcome reception Friday evening in Angers' downtown and staying near by will be much more comfortable for you

3. The wedding venue is a 45mn/60km drive from Angers and unless you plan on not drinking alcohol at the welcome party, it is safer to stay in Angers. Police controls for alcohol in France are random and the limit is very low. That said if you prefer to stay around the venue and drive, that's totally fine too. The wedding party will be staying at the venue starting Thursday June 26th until Monday 30th.
