The sooner, the better! Flight tickets will only get more expensive with time but we find that booking them 6-8 months in advance guarantees a good rate. We strongly suggest you have all of your flights, hotels, car rentals, etc booked 6 months prior to the wedding as June is the peak season for tourism in France!
When should I plan on getting there?
This is up to you but we recommend arriving no later than Thursday in France and specifically in Angers, so you have enough time to accommodate to the time change. France is 7 hours ahead of Chicago and if this is your first time traveling to Europe, it can be difficult to manage jet lag.
I've never traveled overseas before. What do I need to know?
Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 month from the travel days. You do not need a visa to come to France.
How do we get to the venue from the US?
If you need help organizing your travels, please feel free to reach out to Laure and Nick. We recommend landing in Paris and either taking the train or renting a car and drive to Angers.
Do we need a rental car?
If you plan on visiting the region, yes we recommend renting a car (make sure you rent an automatic).
What will the weather be like?
The average temperature in the region late June is about 26C / 78 F at the highest. It does cool down at night when the sun is down. Mornings are in the 60s.
Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?
Both! Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors and so will the cocktail hour. Dinner and dancing will be held indoors.
Are kids allowed at the wedding?
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate kids at the wedding.
